It was one of the first really beautiful days of the year yesterday for Sarah and James’ wedding at Goodwood House. It is always lovely to work at Goodwood and never more so than when the sun is shining. Bev joined Sarah and the girls at the Goodwood Hotel while Barrie met with the boys at the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit. James is an enthusiastic member of the Goodwood Road Racing Club and he was very keen to get some photos with his ushers and cars before the wedding. Guests were transported from the Hotel to Goodwood House in a gorgeous vintage bus and when the time came, Sarah also travelled to the House in the bus with her parents and Bridesmaids.
The civil ceremony took place in the Yellow Drawing Room and once again the Chichester Registrars were very welcoming and we were able to photograph the ceremony. James looked very happy when he saw Sarah making her way down the aisle in a stunning Suzanne Neville dress! After the ceremony, the guests were ushered outside for a couple of surprises – a Spitfire display over the house and a display of Supercars and Sportscars on the carriage circle in front of the house. It was every little (and big!) boys dream!
A fantastic meal preceded the very funny speeches by Sarah’s father, James and his Best Man and we had a lot of fun watching the guests playing the table games Sarah had organised. I don’t think I will look at an After Eight Mint in the same way again……… Sarah and James did their first dance to “You’re My Best Friend” performed by their excellent band, Jukebox Fury. Sarah and James are off to Las Vegas and the the West Coast of America for their honeymoon and we know they will have an amazing, fun filled time!
