Jayne and Mark’s wedding at The Sacred Heart church and Bartholemew Barn Petworth

Aug 23, 2009 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Yesterday was the long awaited wedding of Jayne and Mark. The weather was absolutely perfect from the start for their ceremony, which took place in the Sacred Heart Church in the centre of historic Petworth. After the ceremony, we went for a walk down one of the cobbled streets in the town and took some Bride and Groom portrait photos, which attracted quite an audience. We were then off to Bartholemew Barn for the reception where the wonderful Casablanca Boys kept everyone entertained before, during and after the meal. Between the meal and evening dancing, all the guests took part in a mass game of cricket on the lawn. Jayne and Mark were brilliant fun and happy to take time out for some more signature shots in the woods and fields surrounding the barn. I know they will have a long and happy marriage with lots of laughter!

About The Sacred Heart church and Bartholemew Barn Petworth

The Sacred Heart church and Bartholemew Barn Petworth is a traditional parish church wedding venue with the quiet formality that comes with a church ceremony. The stone interior, stained-glass windows and peal of bells set the tone before guests move on to the reception nearby.

English churches photograph particularly well in summer when the stained-glass light is at its best. The colour spill across the aisle, the guests lit from the side, the couple framed by carved stone — these are images that are hard to create anywhere else.
