Gemma & Mark’s wedding at Bury Court Barn

May 9, 2011 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Several years ago, we filmed one of the first weddings to take place at Bury Court Barn shortly after the gardens had been planted. What a difference time has made as yesterday, for Gemma and Mark’s weddings, the gardens were looking ‘blooming’ lovely! The quintessential English Garden setting perfectly suited the relaxed day that Gemma and Mark had planned and everything went without a hitch from the lovely ceremony with a fun registrar and personal vows to the flamboyant juggling cocktail server in the evening. Here is a sneak peek of a few images from the day and the highlights video and we look forward to catching up with Mark and Gemma when they return from their honeymoon. The video is HD so please allow time for it to load before playing.

About Bury Court Barn

Bury Court Barn sits on a working gardener’s estate in Bentley on the Hampshire–Surrey border. The 17th century flint-and-brick barn has been sympathetically converted into one of the south’s most loved rustic wedding venues, and it’s surrounded by walled gardens designed by Piet Oudolf and Christopher Bradley-Hole — some of the most admired perennial planting in the country.

Barns are forgiving in bad weather, which is no small thing in English summer. If the rain comes I have a full indoor wedding I can still shoot without needing to adjust my plans. The warm interior means couple portraits indoors never feel like a compromise.
