Eden Roc wedding photography
Eden Roc wedding photography. We have just returned from a three day trip to Switzerland to photograph the wedding of Rose and Henry in Ascona. The ceremony took place in the lovely Chiesa di San Pietro where the locals as well as many tourists took a great interest in the wedding party heading for the small church in the town. After some photos in the sun outside the church it was time to walk back along the beautiful cobbled streets towards the elegance of the magnificent 5 star Eden Roc hotel which is situated right on the bank of Lake Maggiore. The day was full of individual touches including decoration of the church with candles and lots of white flowers, a horse drawn carriage too and from the church, a drinks reception on the jetty, an outdoor first dance and cake cutting and a huge fireworks display over the lake. It was a great day and a pleasure for us to be a part of.
Ascona is Switzerland’s lowest lying town. It is located at 196 meters above sea level on the northern shore of Lago Maggiore, also called Lake Langen. Ascona is famous for its mild climate, its Old Town and a lake promenade which is dotted with street cafés and boasts a Latin ambience.

About Ascona, Switzerland
Ascona, Switzerland is a destination wedding location with all of the relaxed pace that implies. A ceremony abroad usually means more time, more daylight and a different rhythm to the day than a British wedding.
Destination weddings change the photography just by changing the light. Softer morning light, longer afternoons and warm evenings mean the palette of the album is completely different to a UK day. I adjust my approach accordingly.
