Julie and Mike’s wedding at Goldsborough Hall

On Friday we flew to Leeds for Julie and Mike’s wedding on Saturday.  The ceremony took place in Knaresborough United Reform Church and it was conducted by one of Julie’s relatives which made it very special.  After the ceremony the reception took place at the beautiful Goldsborough Hall.  This is a fairly newly renovated venue and our first time shooting there and we would happily recommend it!  The evening was great fun with wonderful friendly people.  Mike and Julie were a fantastic couple to photograph and it was a pleasure to record their day for them.

About Goldsborough Hall

Goldsborough Hall is a country house wedding venue in the best English tradition — grand reception rooms, formal gardens and the kind of gravel-drive approach that sets the tone from the moment guests arrive. Couples typically use the main state rooms for the ceremony and dinner, with the grounds opening up space for portraits and evening drinks.

Country houses like this one reward a photographer who knows where to find good light. I spend time during the day finding the windows that flood the main rooms with soft, directional light and pairing those with the grounds outside for couple portraits. If the weather turns, interiors this rich stand on their own without needing a blue sky.
