Editorial Photography London
Your brand, in real places with real light. Photographs that show the life your product belongs to, not just the product.
A product shot shows what you sell. An editorial picture shows why people want it.
I've spent more than twenty years photographing people in real moments. Editorial work uses the same skill: put your brand somewhere real, let a story run through it, and make pictures people want to step into.

Styled, but never stiff
The best editorial pictures look planned and feel natural. That balance is the whole job.
We plan the shots, the places and the styling together. Then on the day I leave room for the things nobody planned, because those are often the frames you end up using most.
Hotels, fashion, classic cars, interiors. Different subjects, same aim. Pictures that fit your brand and make people feel something.
BarrieWho editorial photography works for
Almost any brand can use it. These are the areas I come back to most.

Hotels with character
Not just the rooms. The people, the service and the small moments that make a stay feel special.

Clothes on real people
How a piece moves and fits, out on the street and in real light, not flat on a hanger.

Cars with history
Rare cars shot for auction, in places that suit their story. This one on the track at Goodwood.
Automotive work →Interiors and lifestyle work the same way. Rooms people can picture themselves in, rather than a straight record of the space.
RM Sotheby's at The Peninsula London
A vintage racing car outside The Peninsula, one of London's luxury hotels. The idea was to make it feel like arriving somewhere special.
- The settingThe hotel entrance, the doorman and the stone lions did half the storytelling.
- The peopleA guest, a driver and a doorman, so the car sits in a real moment.
- The lightNatural London daylight, so the blue of the car does the work.

From brief to final images
Clear at every step, and built around your team.
Plan together
We talk through your brand, who you want to reach and what the pictures are for. Then we plan the shot list, locations and styling.
The shoot
On location or in a studio. I work through the planned shots and keep an eye out for the unplanned ones.
Edit and deliver
I pick and edit the strongest images and deliver them in the sizes and formats your team needs.
Editorial photography questions
What's the difference between editorial and product photography?
Product photography shows the thing on its own, usually on a plain background. Editorial puts it in a real setting with people and a story, so your audience can picture it in their own life.
Do you shoot on location or in a studio?
Both. Most editorial work is on location, like a hotel, a street or a house, but some projects suit a studio.
Can you help with models, styling and locations?
Yes. We plan all of that together at the start, and I can suggest people and places that fit the brief.
Do you work outside London?
Yes. I'm based in London and happy to travel for the right project.
How much does an editorial shoot cost?
Every brief is different, so I quote per project. Send me a few details about what you need and I'll come back with a price.
Got a brief in mind?
Tell me a little about your brand and what the pictures are for. I read every enquiry myself.
