A London Pre-Wedding Photoshoot to Remember: Singapore to the Streets of the Capital
There’s something truly special about welcoming couples who travel halfway around the world to capture their pre-wedding story in London. This recent shoot was exactly that kind of day — a wonderful couple who had flown in from Singapore to celebrate their love in one of the world’s most iconic cities, and I couldn’t have asked for better company, better weather, or a better location list.
Here are just a few photos as a sneak peek from the session, but honestly, choosing which images to share first is always the hardest part after a day like this.
Why Couples Fly to London for Pre-Wedding Photography
London has a magic that photographs beautifully in every season. For international couples, it offers a rare combination — world-famous landmarks, timeless architecture, royal parks, and those hidden corners of the city that feel cinematic without even trying. This particular couple had a shortlist of locations that meant something to them, and together we mapped out a route that would take us from the City all the way to the west of London, finishing as the golden hour settled in.

Hair, Makeup, and a Familiar Face on Set
I was once again working with one of my favourite hair and makeup artists, Pipa, who always does a wonderful job. Pipa doesn’t just prep the bride-to-be beautifully before we start — she also comes along on the shoot to help out, retouching hair and makeup as the day progresses. This is something I genuinely recommend for every pre-wedding session. Between the London wind, walking between locations, and the odd drizzle, having someone on hand to keep everything looking flawless makes an enormous difference in the final images.
The Route: From St Paul’s to the Bandstand in Hyde Park
Starting at St Paul’s Cathedral
We started by meeting on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral and photographed the couple in front of the cathedral as well as around the surrounding area. The architecture of St Paul’s is something that never stops delivering — the sweeping steps, the Portland stone, and those quiet little pockets tucked away from the crowds. It’s a classic London opener and always sets the tone for the rest of the day.
The Tower of London and Tower Bridge
From St Paul’s we made our way down to the Tower of London and the view across the Thames to Tower Bridge. This stretch of the riverbank is one of my favourite places to photograph couples — the contrast of medieval history on one side and the iconic blue-and-white silhouette of Tower Bridge on the other creates such a strong sense of place.
Shad Thames: London’s Hidden Character
We then walked across Tower Bridge to Shad Thames and carried on photographing the couple with Tower Bridge in the background and the wonderful architecture of Shad Thames in the foreground. Shad Thames is one of those spots that always surprises international couples. The old warehouse walkways, the cast-iron bridges overhead, the cobbled streets — it’s moody, textured, and utterly different from the grand monuments you find elsewhere in the city. It adds a welcome layer of character to any pre-wedding set.
Westminster Bridge, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace
After a quick bite to eat and a drink — which I always build into the schedule, because a rested couple looks a hundred times better in front of the camera — we carried on our pre-wedding adventure in the city. We headed to Westminster Bridge and the London Eye for those sweeping Thames-side compositions with the Houses of Parliament in the frame. Then a short cab ride took us to Buckingham Palace for a few photos by the Queen’s London residence.
Finishing in Hyde Park at Golden Hour
Finally we headed to Hyde Park for some shots in the park, and then as the sun dropped in the evening we finished our London pre-wedding photoshoot at the bandstand on a glorious spring day in London. There is something about finishing a shoot in a green, open space after a day of stone and steel — it softens everything, and the light through the trees in Hyde Park during late afternoon is really hard to beat.
