Arthur and Katie got married at The Haybarn, on Home Farm at Dulas in Herefordshire. It’s a restored red-brick barn on a Victorian model farm from the 1880s, family-run, deep in the countryside near Ewyas Harold.

Getting married in a barn
Barns are good places to photograph a wedding. Big doors mean big light, the timber gives everything a warm colour, and there’s usually a field or a yard just outside for portraits without going anywhere. The thing to plan for is the evening, when the daylight goes and the barn relies on whatever lighting you’ve put in. Festoon lights and candles do a lot of work in the photographs after dark.
