St Pancras Renaissance Wedding Photographer
George Gilbert Scott's Gothic hotel above the Eurostar, with the Grand Staircase, brick arches and gold leaf everywhere you look.
The hotel opened in 1873 as the Midland Grand, and nearly got knocked down before it came back to life in 2011.
George Gilbert Scott designed it, and it's Grade I listed. It closed as a hotel in 1935 and spent decades as railway offices. It's now called St. Pancras London, part of the Autograph Collection, but most people still know it as the St Pancras Renaissance.

A building that does half the work
I've photographed couples at St Pancras for years. Red brick, pointed arches and old lanterns give you pictures that could only be London.
The Grand Staircase is worth building real time into the day for. It looks different depending on the hour and the light, so it's not somewhere to rush through on the way to dinner.
For the ceremony and the reception I stay out of the way. I confirm access to the staircase and any restricted areas with the hotel beforehand, so nothing is being worked out on the day.
BarrieWhere weddings happen at St Pancras
Every event room is licensed for civil ceremonies, so you can marry in one room and eat in the next. There's also a terrace for up to 100.
The Grand Staircase
The famous one. Gold leaf, painted walls and wrought iron, for a small ceremony or drinks.
Hansom Hall
The biggest room, for a large wedding breakfast. 375 for a ceremony, or 575 standing.
The Gallery
The middle option, for a mid-sized wedding breakfast or an evening reception.
The Ladies' Smoking Room
A Victorian room with plenty of character, good for a ceremony or a smaller dinner.
Where to take portraits at St Pancras
You don't need to go far. Most of the best pictures are within a few minutes of the ceremony room.
- The Grand StaircaseBest when it's quiet, so I plan the timing with the hotel.
- The archesRed brick and lanterns. Good in any weather, because you're under cover.
- The stationThe big glass roof and the Meeting Place statue on the upper concourse.
- The frontThe clock tower and spires on Euston Road, best with some sky behind them.
