Wedding at London Oratory – As we emerged from a difficult year of covid lockdowns it was great to be able to photograph a wedding in 2021. Sophie and Michael had to postpone their wedding plans twice with the ever-changing advice for wedding ceremonies over the last year and it was fab to see their wedding happen at last with their wedding at London Oratory.
Wedding photography London Oratory
They had an intimate ceremony at the fabulous London Oratory, The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, better known as Brompton Oratory, is home to the Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri in London
This is one of only two churches in England where daily Mass takes place. It was the setting for Terrence Rattigan’s play The Deep Blue Sea and also features as St Paul’s Cathedral in the 2011 Bond film, Skyfall. Surrounded by a beautiful garden and many stunning marble statues it exudes opulence.
We photographed and filmed the ceremony so they could share their wedding day later in the year when they are going to plan a party for all the family and friends who could not attend the wedding day to the current restrictions of 30 people at a wedding. Sophie and Michael were delighted to be able to go ahead with their wedding at the church Michael had attended since he was a child.
The Oratory was still a great venue for a wedding despite the restrictions numbers.
Wedding Photography Holland Park
After the ceremony, the wedding party along with the bride and groom went along to Holland Park Gardens to take some group photos with the family and also the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
We then went with just the bride and groom to the Kyoto gardens. They took a stroll through the garden past descending tiered waterfalls, serene ponds filled with koi carp and traditional Japanese lanterns. Peacocks wander freely throughout, adding to its peaceful atmosphere. We took some great bridal portraits of the wedding couple with the fabulous background of the Kyoto gardens as their backdrop.
After finishing off the wedding photoshoot at Holland Park Gardens we then went to one of the family members houses for speeches and small wedding reception in their gorgeous London mews house.
The wedding couple were delighted with the photos and are looking forward to showing them off at their party later in the year once they announce their marriage.

How do I choose a London wedding photographer?
how to choose a photographer for your wedding in London. A lot of people are asking me how to choose the right photographer for your wedding in London.
The best advice I can give you to choose your London wedding photographer is to look for someone who has experience. So how do you find a photographer with years of wedding photography experience? You want to look for a photographer who is only focused on wedding photography and not someone who does weddings as an add-on to their primary job. Just because they are a professional in another field like photojournalism, it doesn’t mean that they would make a good photographer for your wedding celebrations.
We can photograph and film your wedding day in London but we only do weddings. It is our job and we love it!
If you want to find the best photographer for your wedding, look out for a photographer who has been photographing in one country or city for at least ten years
We have photographed over 700 weddings since 2002 so we know what works and what doesn’t.
