The wedding of Rob and Bessie at the Hotel Cafe Royal in London
What an amazing wedding at the wonderful Cafe Royal on the corner of Regent Street right beside Piccadilly Circus. Rob and Bessie were married in the glamours Pompadour Ballroom, ornately gilded and beautifully restored, is the largest and most with a series of fluted Corinthian pilasters and mirrored panels with gilded frames are accented further by a rich decorative ceiling which elaborately depicts scenes of love. Large double doors lead on to a pillared outdoor terrace with views up and down the sweep of Regent Street.
The staff at Cafe Royal were so helpful and a special mention to Marina who is the wedding planner at the hotel and as well as being friendly, warm and personable she also arranged for us to go up to the rooftop penthouse suite terrace which has the most amazing views across London. As their wedding day coincided with the Queens 90th birthday celebrations there were union flags hanging the length of Regent Street and stretching down towards The Mall and Buckingham Palace which made for a wonderful backdrop to our photos.
After an amazing dinner in the Pompadour Ballroom there were speeches and cake cutting before dancing in the evening to the sound of a live band that never fails to get people on the dance floor.
