The rain stopped and the sun shone brightly yesterday for the wedding of Kelly and Simon. We were both filming and photographing the day for them and from start to finish there was always something going on to entertain the guests. The ceremony took place at the magnificent church of St Mary’s in Woburn and then Simon and Kelly were transported to the reception by a very elegant horse and carriage. The beautiful weather meant that the champagne reception was able to take place in the landscaped gardens surrounding the Gallery. During the wedding meal, the Three Waiters surprised everyone with their brilliant singing and performance and afterwards a caricaturist created some brilliant sketches of people – fortunately we managed to avoid being caught by him! It was a really special day with a great atmosphere and a sprinkling of familiar faces, friends and family of the couple. It was an honour to be a part of the day and we are really looking forward to seeing Kelly and Simon when they get back from honeymoon for a post wedding shoot.

About The Sculpture Gallery, Woburn Abbey
The Sculpture Gallery, Woburn Abbey is the kind of urban wedding venue that tells you, the moment you walk in, that this isn’t going to be a traditional country-house day. Strong architecture, modern interiors and city views set a very different tone.
Urban venues ask for a different approach to photography. Clean architecture rewards strong, graphic composition rather than soft English prettiness. I shoot harder lines and more deliberate framing, and I love what a London skyline does for a couple portrait at dusk.
