Newham Town Hall wedding of Laura & Paolo. They wanted some quirky photos in and around the area as they live a two minute walk away from the Town Hall. Laura wore her mothers wedding dress, it last saw the light of day a mere 37 years ago!. They jet off today for Las Vegas where they are going to have another wedding ceremony with friends and family.
Newham was undergoing some major regeneration and construction for the Olympic games at the time and is now a busy and vibrant part of London with some great locations for weddings and beautiful parks and the Olympic Village making a striking backdrop for wedding photography. This wedding was photographed on location in the south of England. Every venue shapes the day in its own way, and the photography is a response to the building, the light and the people in front of me.
The photography of any wedding is a response to the venue, the light and the people in front of me. I work in a documentary style for most of the day and carve out a short portrait session around golden hour, which almost always produces the album’s hero images.
