Yesterday we were at Highclere Castle, near Newbury for the wedding of Claire and Tor. Barrie was photographing and Bev was filming the day for them. It was a gorgeous and fun day even with the drizzly rain that continued throughout. The wedding had a feeling of classic elegance and the Castle and Marquee had been beautifully decorated throughout. Claire looked amazing in her handmade dress during the day then in the evening she changed into an equally stunning Elie Saab dress for the reception, which was rocking to the sound of 10 piece party band Blue Groove. It was a pleasure for us to be back at Highclere, which is run impeccably by Michelle and her team. We wish Claire and Tor every happiness in their married life.

About Highclere Castle
Highclere Castle is best known as the real-life setting of Downton Abbey, but long before television crews arrived it was already one of England’s most dramatic country houses. The Jacobean-style mansion was redesigned in the 1840s by Sir Charles Barry — the architect of the Houses of Parliament — and sits in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown parkland on the Hampshire–Berkshire border.
I pay particular attention to the interiors in a castle like this one. Stone walls hold the light in a particular way, stained glass throws unusual colours across the floor, and the sheer height of the rooms gives a sense of theatre that’s almost impossible to replicate in a more modern venue.
