Amazingly there is a steam railway operating on the doorstep! and there is a platform right in the middle of the grounds at High Rocks which makes a fantastic attraction on your wedding day especially if there are children at the wedding, they will love the drama of the smoke stack and the wonderful sound of the train whistle as it gets ready to depart the station. For a magical fairytale wedding you can even get married at Church in Tunbridge Wells and then arrive by steam locomotive at High Rocks for your reception, what more romantic way to start your day as husband and wife could you imagine.

High Rocks is a country house wedding venue in the best English tradition — grand reception rooms, formal gardens and the kind of gravel-drive approach that sets the tone from the moment guests arrive. Couples typically use the main state rooms for the ceremony and dinner, with the grounds opening up space for portraits and evening drinks.
What I love shooting in a venue like this is the range of backdrops within a few minutes’ walk. One set of portraits in the grand formal rooms; a completely different set on the lawns; another in a walled garden or courtyard. The album ends up covering what feels like several very different locations.
