Kirti and Nick’s wedding at Goodwood House

May 14, 2007 | Wedding photographer Sussex

On Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing Kirti and Nick’s wedding at Goodwood House.  Again our luck with the weather held and the rain that had been falling for 24 hours stopped and the day remained bright and breezy.

The day began with a Hindu blessing filled with symbolism and colour and the ceremony was accompanied by sita and tabla musicians.  Following the Hindu ceremony, a civil ceremony took place in the Yellow Drawing Room.

There was a huge amount of energy and fun throughout the day with an Indian dancer performing and a Dhol drummer calling people to supper.  The evening concluded with a fireworks display at the front of the house and some very energetic dancing!

We wish Kirti and Nick every happiness for their future together.

About Goodwood House

Goodwood House is one of the most prestigious wedding venues in West Sussex. The Regency country house sits at the foot of the South Downs a short drive from Chichester and has been the home of the Dukes of Richmond for more than 300 years. Couples have the run of grand state rooms including the Egyptian Dining Room, Tapestry Drawing Room and Long Hall, with the estate’s 12,000 acres of parkland stretching out beyond.

What I love shooting in a venue like this is the range of backdrops within a few minutes’ walk. One set of portraits in the grand formal rooms; a completely different set on the lawns; another in a walled garden or courtyard. The album ends up covering what feels like several very different locations.
