Although yesterday was dull and drizzly, the wedding of Panayiotis and Ioanna was anything but! They were married in the Long Hall at Goodwood House surrounded by friends and family in a very relaxed ceremony conducted by the wonderful Chichester Registrars. There was a lot of laughter and celebration during the short ceremony after which the wedding party enjoyed drinks and canapes in the front hall. Despite being August, the fire was lit giving a cosy feel to an otherwise chilly day. After the wedding meal there were three very funny and touching speeches before dancing began in the Supper Room. Ioanna and Panayotis are a gorgeous fun loving couple and I loved being there with them on their wedding day.

Goodwood House is one of the most prestigious wedding venues in West Sussex. The Regency country house sits at the foot of the South Downs a short drive from Chichester and has been the home of the Dukes of Richmond for more than 300 years. Couples have the run of grand state rooms including the Egyptian Dining Room, Tapestry Drawing Room and Long Hall, with the estate’s 12,000 acres of parkland stretching out beyond.
What I love shooting in a venue like this is the range of backdrops within a few minutes’ walk. One set of portraits in the grand formal rooms; a completely different set on the lawns; another in a walled garden or courtyard. The album ends up covering what feels like several very different locations.
