We have had a really busy couple of weeks photographing lovely weddings and we have just found time to update the blog! The first wedding is that of Rahul and Nazrin who were married at the end of September at One Whitehall in London. This was their second wedding in the week having got married in Azerbaijan the Saturday before.
One Whitehall, which adjoins The Royal Horseguards hotel is a beautiful Victorian building with one of the most magnificent staircases you will ever see. We began the day at home in Fulham with Rahul, who was getting ready with his brother and nephew who had flown over for the wedding from America. Rahul was a very relaxed Groom and this set the tone for the day! Following our stop with Rahul we went to the hotel to photograph the Bridal preps with Nazrin, who if anything was even more relaxed than Rahul. Once dressed, we hopped in the white London cab that the couple had booked and set off around some of the London sights for some photographs of the couple before the ceremony. This is becoming increasingly popular with our couples now and it makes for some fantastic images. We attracted quite a crowd when we stopped on Westminster Bridge.
The ceremony held in the Gladstone Ballroom included one of Nazrin’s favourite poems beautifully translated from Azeri into English by one of her friends. After the ceremony guests enjoyed a champagne reception before going in to the stunning ballroom for supper before which Rahul and Nazrin performed their traditional Azerbaijani wedding dance. The speeches were very, very funny, particularly that of Rahul’s three best men who spared Rahul no blushes!
In the evening guests were entertained by the Jamie Bruce Band. Jamie was a successful contestant on The Voice in Tom Jones’ team and listening to him we could see why he did so well! We had a great time photographing their wedding and we are looking forward to catching up after their month long honeymoon to Australia.

About One Whitehall Place
One Whitehall Place is a Grade I listed Victorian building on the Thames Embankment, steps from Trafalgar Square and Westminster. The Reading Room, Gladstone Library and Whitehall Suite each offer a different mood, from intimate wood-panelled to the grand ballroom with ornate plasterwork and tall windows looking onto the river.
The advantage of a city-centre venue is that you can walk out of the front door into a completely different photographic environment. Five minutes of portraits against glass, stone or street lights gives an album images that couldn’t have been taken at any other kind of wedding.
