Pre-wedding photography Iceland

I had an amazing experience during our pre-wedding photography Iceland adventure recently! We flew from Gatwick into Reykjavik and met up with our couple at the airport to start the pre-wedding adventure. We went to the rental car office and picked up a small 4×4 and then headed back to collect our luggage, we soon realised that we were not going to fit all of the luggage and four people in so we headed back to the rental car office and upgraded to a larger 4×4! Once on our way I drove us the 350km journey to our hotel which took 4.5 hours along a dark mostly winding but beautifully quiet and peaceful road where at one time we didnt see another car for 45 mins…that does not happen in the UK that’s for sure.

On arrival at the Foss Hotel the staff were super friendly and arranged a night cap and bite to eat. In the morning we headed to the Glacier Lagoon which was only 10 mins away, our first port of call was the Icecave snd to get there we had to climb aboard a monster 4×4 with studded tyres and amazing ground clearance suitable for the challenging terrain you need to navigate to reach the ice cave. Once we were in the icecave we had to move fast to get a photo of the couple on their won as there were a lot of other tourists in there and we only had 30 seconds with the back of the cave to ourselves before all the other tourists wanted to explore it.

We then arrived back at the Glacier Lagoon and with less than four hours daylight per day, we needed to get straight on with the next part of the pre-wedding photography which was with the stunning glacier lagoon behind and standing on a small iceberg that had made its way to the edge of the lagoon.

Our final location was on the Beach at sunset and although it looks amazing it was freezing cold, with a fierce wind making it feel even colder than the already below zero temperature it was. They were both very brave to put up with these conditions but they were delighted with the final results of their pre-wedding photography in Iceland.

The next day we set off for the Black sand beach and one of the most amazing waterfalls I have ever seen and a beautiful church perched high on a hill. We had the most amazing adventure and I already have another booking for Iceland in November 2018 so if you want to come and join us for the most amazing pre-wedding photography experience in this beautiful country do get in touch.
