On Saturday I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of Fran and Toby at Wilton House. It was my first time at the venue and it is possibly one of the most perfect venues I have ever had the pleasure to work at. It was a lovely, fun day and the couple’s family and friends, many of whom had travelled from the USA made me feel very welcome. We were able to take some Bride and Groom portrait photographs around the house and group shots on the famous Palladian Bridge, which was originally submitted as a design for the Rialto Bridge in Venice. After drinks and photographs, the guests returned to the magnificent Double Cube room for the meal and hilarious and touching speeches before the evening entertainment began in the Old Riding School. Fran and Toby had ‘Ain’t That a Kick in the Head’ by Dean Martin as their first dance and then I left them to enjoy their evening. Fran and Toby are off to one of my favourite places in the World, Indonesia for their honeymoon and I wish them every happiness for their future.

About Wilton House
Wilton House is a country house wedding venue in the best English tradition — grand reception rooms, formal gardens and the kind of gravel-drive approach that sets the tone from the moment guests arrive. Couples typically use the main state rooms for the ceremony and dinner, with the grounds opening up space for portraits and evening drinks.
My favourite time of day in a house like this is usually the late afternoon, when the light gets low and warm and the state rooms start to feel almost lit from within. Couple portraits at that hour, inside or out, tend to be the strongest images in the album.
