A beautifully planned day on the Goodwood estate
A fantastic wedding today at The Goodwood Hotel with Marti and Rob — and what a day it was. Every aspect had clearly been thought through with real care, from the stunning bridal gown to the smallest table decoration, and the result was one of the most personal and joyful weddings we’ve photographed on the Goodwood estate in a long time.
As a regular Goodwood Hotel wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to be back here — and when a couple has put as much thought and effort into their day as Marti and Rob did, it makes the job even more rewarding.
The bride: Marti in Ian Stuart
Marti looked absolutely stunning in her Ian Stuart wedding dress. Ian Stuart gowns are renowned for their drama, elegance and beautifully considered detailing, and this one was no exception — perfectly suited to Marti, and perfectly suited to the setting. Whether photographed in the warm natural light of the hotel interiors or the more dramatic light up on the estate, the dress looked incredible from every angle.

Personal touches: sweet trees, table decor and all the details that matter
One of the things we loved most about Marti and Rob’s wedding was how much of themselves they had put into the details. A few of the standout touches:
- Sweet trees — a brilliant, playful detail that guests of all ages loved
- Beautifully styled table decorations, thoughtfully co-ordinated with the overall look of the day
- Personalised styling throughout the ceremony and reception spaces
- Considered little surprises for guests that clearly came from the heart
Couples often ask us whether the details really matter in wedding photography. The answer is a firm yes. Those little personal touches are exactly what make a wedding feel like your wedding rather than a package, and they’re often the photos that trigger the strongest memories when you look back in 10 or 20 years’ time.
Gospel Singers Inc: the sound of the day
One of the most brilliant decisions Marti and Rob made for their wedding was to book the superb Gospel Singers Incto perform during their ceremony. Gospel music and weddings are a combination made in heaven — literally — and Gospel Singers Inc absolutely brought the house down.
The ceremony was lifted to another level entirely. Guests were smiling, laughing, clapping, a few happy tears were wiped away, and the whole room was genuinely swept up in it. It transformed what could have been a lovely but traditional civil ceremony into something that felt joyful, theatrical and completely unique to Marti and Rob.

Couple portraits at the Festival of Speed start line
With the weather making up its own mind (again!), we kept things efficient up on the hill. We headed out for a few couple photographs on the start line of the Goodwood Festival of Speed — one of the most iconic and photogenic spots anywhere on the estate.
The tree-lined avenue, the sweeping view back across the estate, and the quiet drama of that famous stretch of tarmac give you images with real character. With Marti’s Ian Stuart dress, those portraits looked unmistakably editorial.
The wind, however, had other ideas. After a few beautiful frames it was very much a case of “great, we’ve got the shot — let’s go and find a radiator.” So back to the hotel we went, in search of warmth, champagne and the rest of the party.
Back at The Goodwood Hotel: reception, speeches and dancing
The reception back at The Goodwood Hotel was everything you’d expect from this venue — warm, characterful rooms, superb food from the Goodwood catering team, and service that hits the sweet spot between polished and genuinely friendly. With all of Marti and Rob’s careful styling in place around the room, the whole space looked beautiful.
Speeches, first dance, and a dance floor that filled quickly and stayed full — all the best ingredients of a wedding day, delivered beautifully.
