Park Lane Hotel Wedding Photographer
An Art Deco hotel from 1927 at the bottom of Park Lane, with Green Park across the road and Buckingham Palace a short walk through it. I've photographed a wedding here, and I'd love to do yours.
The part of a Park Lane Hotel wedding everyone remembers is the walk to the palace.
After the ceremony I took the bride and groom across the road into Green Park, past the Ritz and down to Buckingham Palace for a few photographs. Quite a few tourists stopped to take pictures of them on the way.
Then back to the hotel. It opened in 1927 and was the haunt of the rich and famous in 1920s Mayfair. A major renovation brought it up to date as a five-star hotel and restored the original Art Deco interiors alongside it, and it's one of the best-looking places in London to get married. It's now the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, though most people still call it the Park Lane Hotel.
A Park Lane Hotel wedding, in order
How the wedding I photographed here ran, and how most days at the hotel work.
Drinks in the Smith & Whistle
The hotel's 1920s-style bar, where guests head for drinks while the two of you slip out for photographs.
Green Park and the palace
Across Piccadilly into the park, past the Ritz and down to Buckingham Palace, and back before the drinks are finished.
The Art Deco Ballroom
A full-size 1920s ballroom with its own private entrance, so your guests feel they have the best private ballroom in London to themselves.
Speeches and the first dance
The ballroom is at its best once the lights go down. I stay through the first dance, or to the last one with the Premium collection.
Quiet for most of the day, directed for twenty minutes
I photograph the day as it happens: getting ready, the ceremony, your guests, the drinks in the Smith & Whistle. I don't line people up or stop things to fix the light, and you shouldn't notice I'm there for most of it.
The portraits are the one part I direct. Fifteen or twenty minutes of photographs, at a time that suits you, and at the Park Lane that usually means the walk to the palace. There's more of my London wedding photography on the home page.

Where to take portraits nearby
The hotel sits on one of the best corners in London for wedding portraits. All of these are within a short walk:
- Green ParkStraight across Piccadilly from the hotel. Trees, open lawns and soft light under the canopy.
- Piccadilly and the RitzOn the way down, with red phone boxes and the Ritz arcade.
- Buckingham PalaceThe palace and the Victoria Memorial at the bottom of the park. Busy with tourists, and they tend to cheer.
- St James's ParkA few minutes further along The Mall, if you want water and a quieter corner.
