Claire and John’s wedding at Upwaltham Barns

Sep 21, 2007 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Claire and John were married yesterday at Upwaltham Barns near Petworth.  Claire and John’s organisation of the day was just fantastic and all the guests appreciated the small touches right down to the personalised fish and chip paper cones which were served as canapes!

The colour scheme was predominantly chocolate brown and the boys all looked very smart in their brown suits with simple cream buttonholes.

Claire looked stunning in a simple floating dress designed for her.

The ceremony was lovely and pretty emotional with personalised vows that they had written for each other.

The evening entertainment was provided by a great Soul Band and the chocolate theme continued with the first dance “Chocolate Girl” by Deacon Blue.

Claire and John are off to the Maldives on honeymoon which sounds idyllic just as the days here are getting colder and darker.  Congratulations to you both and we will speak to you soon.

About Upwaltham Barns

Upwaltham Barns sits in a quiet pocket of the South Downs between Petworth and Chichester. The complex of three restored flint-and-brick farm buildings — Ceremony Barn, Barley Barn and Yard Barn — gives couples a complete end-to-end venue with accommodation, ceremony space and reception areas all on the same working farm. It’s one of West Sussex’s most popular barn weddings for a reason.

Barn light changes character as the sun moves. Morning preparation in one corner; afternoon speeches with light coming through the hayloft window; evening portraits lit by fairy lights and candles. A good barn wedding album ends up being almost a tour of the building’s light.
