Emma and Stuart’s wedding at Chorleywood and West Wycombe Place

Jun 20, 2009 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Yesterday we both photographed Emma and Stuart’s wedding. After the ceremony at Christ Church, Chorleywood the guests were taken to West Wycombe Place by coach. The venue is absolutely stunning, the perfect setting for a reception. Following drinks and photographs at the main house, the guests were piped down the hill to a beautifully decorated marquee for dinner. Stuart and Emma gave us plenty of time for our signature shots, which was fantastic!

About Chorleywood and West Wycombe Place

Chorleywood and West Wycombe Place is a country house wedding venue in the best English tradition — grand reception rooms, formal gardens and the kind of gravel-drive approach that sets the tone from the moment guests arrive. Couples typically use the main state rooms for the ceremony and dinner, with the grounds opening up space for portraits and evening drinks.

A country house wedding tends to reward an unhurried approach. I work in a documentary style for most of the day — capturing guests settling in, the quiet moments before the ceremony and the relaxed pace of a long reception — with a short focused portrait session somewhere that suits the house.
