Heather & Jonathan’s wedding at Lancing College Chapel

May 2, 2010 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Heather and Jonathan had a fabulous day yesterday for their wedding at Lancing College Chapel and then went on to Mannings Heath for their reception. Heather had arranged for a Cadillac as a surprise to take Jonathan & the boys to the church which they loved. We got some great photos yesterday and here are just a few of my favourites from the Chapel.

About Lancing College Chapel

Lancing College Chapel is one of the great Gothic revival buildings of the south coast, begun in 1868 and still unfinished. It sits on the South Downs above the Sussex coast and its sheer scale — the largest school chapel in the world — gives ceremonies here a near-cathedral feel. Dramatic stone, tall stained glass windows and soaring vaulted ceilings.

Photographing in a cathedral is a privilege and a technical challenge in equal measure. The light is low, the architecture is vast, and most cathedrals restrict where photographers can stand during the service. I work quickly and with a light touch, using the available light rather than fighting it with flash.
