We were very privileged to photograph the wedding of Penny and Gareth which was only the second wedding ever to take place in The Gherkin at St Mary’s Axe in the City of London. Venues don’t get more spectacular than this inconic London landmark and it is a very stylish venue for a wedding. The ceremony took place on the 39th floor and the reception on the 40th floor at the very top of the building so the views as you would expect are spectacular to say the least. Penny and Gareth had an amazing day for their wedding with warm and sunny weather and they both looked fantastic. We had a lot of fun photographing them, they were great models! They are now enjoying a honeymoon in the Seychelles.

About The Gherkin, 30 St Mary’s Axe
The Gherkin, 30 St Mary’s Axe is the kind of urban wedding venue that tells you, the moment you walk in, that this isn’t going to be a traditional country-house day. Strong architecture, modern interiors and city views set a very different tone.
The advantage of a city-centre venue is that you can walk out of the front door into a completely different photographic environment. Five minutes of portraits against glass, stone or street lights gives an album images that couldn’t have been taken at any other kind of wedding.
