Victoria & Simon’s wedding at Goodwood House

May 31, 2010 | Wedding photographer Sussex

Yesterday we both photographed the wedding of Victoria and Simon. It was our seventh wedding in nine days and a spectacular one to finish up this busy spell. The couple both got ready at Amberley Castle before travelling across to Goodwood House for their wedding ceremony and Jewish blessing. Victoria wore a fairytale dress by Suzanne Neville and Goodwood House was bought to life with stunning flowers by Melissa Riva. There had been so much thought put in to the small touches for the day, which all went to make the day very special. It was the first time we had worked with Antonia and Lucy from Peppermint Diva who had been helping with the planning of the day and we hope to work with them again soon! Victoria and Simon are off to The Maldives on honeymoon and we look forward to catching up with them and designing their wedding album when they get home.

About Goodwood House

Goodwood House is one of the most prestigious wedding venues in West Sussex. The Regency country house sits at the foot of the South Downs a short drive from Chichester and has been the home of the Dukes of Richmond for more than 300 years. Couples have the run of grand state rooms including the Egyptian Dining Room, Tapestry Drawing Room and Long Hall, with the estate’s 12,000 acres of parkland stretching out beyond.

Country houses like this one reward a photographer who knows where to find good light. I spend time during the day finding the windows that flood the main rooms with soft, directional light and pairing those with the grounds outside for couple portraits. If the weather turns, interiors this rich stand on their own without needing a blue sky.
