Wedding of Samantha & Alex at Lancing College Chapel and Fitzleroi Barn

May 6, 2012 | Wedding photographer Sussex

I had a great time yesterday photographing the wedding of Samantha & Alex at Lancing College Chapel. The day for me started at her parents house with five fun bridesmaids,Samantha and her parents being joined by her grandfather who could not make it to the ceremony but arrived to see them off and get a few photos with his beautiful granddaughter on her wedding day. The family and bridesmaids left for lancing Chapel in beautiful vintage Rolls Royce and Bentley’s provided by the friendly guys at Premiere Carriage.

I managed to get a few photos of the groom and ushers on my arrival before they had their various duties to perform getting guests out of the unseasonably cold weather and into the chapel for a lovely ceremony with hymns sung by the famous chapel choir.

We had a bit of time after the ceremony to get some lovely photos of the bridal party at the Chapel before moving on to the warm and friendly Fitzleroi Barn where each table had to pick a guest to carve the delicious lamb they were being served for the wedding breakfast.

About Lancing College Chapel and Fitzleroi Barn

Lancing College Chapel and Fitzleroi Barn is a traditional parish church wedding venue with the quiet formality that comes with a church ceremony. The stone interior, stained-glass windows and peal of bells set the tone before guests move on to the reception nearby.

Shooting inside a parish church calls for a quiet approach — long lenses, minimal movement and respect for the ceremony. The available light is usually soft and the stone and stained glass do a lot of work for you. I rarely use flash inside a church; the natural light gives a much more authentic record of the service.
