The Goodwood House wedding of Lucinda and James
Lucinda and James were married on a beautiful Autumnal day in Bosham Church
The church of The Holy Trinity, Bosham, is one of the earliest churches in Sussex and documented evidence show that there was a small Christian community in Bosham in the 7th century, making it the oldest site of Christianity in Sussex.
Bosham is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry in scenes at the very beginning where Earl Harold, later King Harold is seen riding to Bosham with his retinue, praying in Bosham Church, feasting in his manor house before embarking on his ill-fated trip to Normandy in 1064. There is also a long held tradition that early in the 11th century King Cnut’s young daughter was drowned in the millstream and was buried in the church. In 1865 a small stone coffin was found just in front of the chancel arch.
They then travelled by Rolls Royce kindly loaned by Lord March to his country estate the beautiful Goodwood House. Upon arrival they had champagne and canapés in the grounds of Goodwood and guests were welcome to go on a tour of the house and hear all about its interesting and colourful history before making their way through to the Ballroom for the wedding breakfast. We were fortunate with the weather to be able to go for a stroll along the festival of speed start line and get some photographs looking back across the parkland towards Goodwood House.
After some amusing and touching speeches they danced the night away to an excellent live band that got everyone on the dance floor for the remanned of the evening. As the recommended wedding photographer at Goodwood house It was a pleasure to photograph yet another member of Goodwood’s own staff to hold their wedding reception at this magnificent West Sussex venue.
