The Lanesborough is on Hyde Park Corner, at the top of Belgravia. Hyde Park is across the road, Wellington Arch is on the island in front, and Knightsbridge is a few minutes’ walk. I’ve photographed weddings here, and couples getting ready here before marrying somewhere else.
Getting ready at The Lanesborough
A lot of couples use The Lanesborough as the place to get ready, even when the ceremony is somewhere else. Danielle and Filipe both got ready here, then drove across the park to their ceremony in the Orangery at Kensington Palace. It’s an easy pairing: somewhere comfortable for the morning, then out of the car and straight into the ceremony.
The rooms are dark and panelled, which suits black and white. One good window is all the bride needs for her portraits. The Library Bar is the place for the groom and his friends before they leave.

Weddings at the hotel
The interiors were redone a few years ago by the Alberto Pinto studio, in a Regency style with a lot of gilding and painted panelling. The flowers are done in-house and are always worth a few frames before the guests come in. The Céleste restaurant, under its glass roof, is the lightest room in the building.
For group photos and family portraits, I’ll walk the rooms with you beforehand and pick the one that fits your numbers. For the rest of the day I stay out of the way and photograph what happens.
Portraits nearby
Hyde Park is the obvious place, and it’s right outside. It’s a Royal Park, so portraits there in wedding clothes need a photography permit, which I can sort out for you. If you’d rather keep it simple, Wellington Arch and the white stucco streets of Belgravia behind the hotel need nothing at all.

Prices
Lanesborough weddings are priced the same as the rest of my London work: £1,350 for five hours, £1,800 for eight and £2,200 for eleven. Every image is edited, and smaller weddings get their full gallery within 24 hours. Full details are on my London wedding photography prices page.
