Gerri and Paul’s wedding at the National Liberal Club, Westminster

Our second wedding of the weekend was on Saturday when Gerri and Paul got married at the National Liberal Club in Whitehall.  Gerri looked absolutely beautiful and it was gorgeous to see them so happy together.  The morning started off with a bus tour for the boys and the bus made an appearance for some photographs later in the day.  The civil ceremony took place in the stunning Smoking Room at the Club followed by a champagne reception on the Terrace and supper in the Dining Room.  The evening entertainment was provided by a fantastic Bluegrass and Cajun Barn dance and the guests all joined in with huge enthusiasm!

About the National Liberal Club, Westminster

the National Liberal Club, Westminster is a cathedral-scale ceremony space. The sheer height of the interior, the long aisle and the stained-glass light give the opening of the day a real sense of occasion that smaller venues simply can’t match.

Photographing in a cathedral is a privilege and a technical challenge in equal measure. The light is low, the architecture is vast, and most cathedrals restrict where photographers can stand during the service. I work quickly and with a light touch, using the available light rather than fighting it with flash.
