Brighton has more good places for photographs in a square mile than most counties have in total.

Most weddings here stay close together. The ceremony at the Town Hall, the Pavilion or a seafront hotel, drinks at the venue, and portraits on the beach or in the Lanes ten minutes' walk away. Nobody spends an hour in a car.

The sea light does a lot of the work

Even on a grey day, the light off the Channel is soft and flattering. On a summer evening it's some of the best portrait light in Sussex.

I work quietly. I'm not the photographer shouting instructions across the beach or stopping the day for a forty-minute group list. Send me your family combinations beforehand and we'll do them in twenty minutes.

Then I take the two of you away for fifteen or twenty minutes when the light is right. The rest of the time you'll forget I'm there.

Brighton wedding questions

Where can you get married in Brighton?

The Royal Pavilion, Brighton Town Hall for register office weddings, and the seafront hotels like The Grand and the Hilton Metropole are the main ones. There are plenty more across the city and Hove.

How many guests can the Royal Pavilion hold for a ceremony?

The Red Drawing Room seats up to 44 and the Music Room up to 90. Music Room ceremonies are in the evening only.

How much does a Brighton wedding photographer cost?

My Sussex collections are £1,150 for five hours, £1,550 for eight and £1,900 for eleven, with every image edited. Small register office weddings are priced by the hour.

When will we get our photos?

Within 24 hours for a smaller wedding and within a week for a full day, in a private online gallery with high-resolution downloads and no watermarks.

What if it rains?

Brighton looks good in any weather. Wet streets reflect, sea mist looks great, and there's always somewhere covered within a few minutes' walk.
