I've photographed weddings across Eastbourne and East Sussex for over two decades — from intimate elopements on the South Downs to full-day celebrations at The Grand. The result is imagery that feels honest, cinematic, and quietly confident.

Eastbourne wedding photographer — bride and groom portrait
Local, not visiting

An Eastbourne photographer, not a day-tripper

Based on the East Sussex coast, I know how the light falls on the seafront at 7pm in August, which lane through the Downs avoids the afternoon traffic, and where the best shelter is when a storm rolls in off the Channel. That local knowledge is the difference between a wedding album that feels generic and one that feels unmistakably yours.

Because I'm genuinely local, there are no travel fees for Eastbourne weddings and I'm available for planning meetings in person whenever it helps.

Venues

Wedding venues across Eastbourne & East Sussex

Whether you're saying your vows on the clifftop at Beachy Head or in the grand ballroom at The View, I've likely shot there before — and if I haven't, I'll be on-site for a scout before the day.

The Grand Hotel

Eastbourne seafront's five-star icon — ballroom ceremonies with sea-view drinks receptions on the Great Hall balcony.

The View Hotel

Formerly the Hydro — panoramic terraces, elegant modern interiors, and sunset portraits over the Channel.

Herstmonceux Castle

Moated 15th-century castle with 500 acres of Elizabethan gardens — one of East Sussex's most cinematic venues.

Pevensey Castle

Roman and Norman ruins on the edge of Pevensey Bay — dramatic, storied, and all yours for the day.

Beachy Head & Birling Gap

Clifftop elopements and blessings with the lighthouse below — some of my most-requested portrait locations.

The Cavendish Hotel

Classic Eastbourne seafront hotel, a favourite for relaxed, elegant celebrations.

East Sussex National

Uckfield — sweeping golf-course views, a stone's throw from the South Downs.

Glynde Place

Tudor manor near Lewes — courtyard ceremonies and long, lantern-lit dinners.

Eastbourne Pier & Bandstand

Victorian seafront portraits and quintessentially English wedding-day backdrops.

Seven Sisters & Cuckmere

White chalk cliffs, meandering river, and wide open sky — unrivalled for couple portraits.

Wadhurst Castle

Woodland estate on the High Weald — intimate and characterful.

St Mary's Church, Old Town

12th-century parish church at the heart of Eastbourne — traditional ceremonies, beautiful natural light.

Frequently Asked

Your questions, answered

Do you charge travel fees for Eastbourne weddings?
No. Because I'm based in Eastbourne, there are no travel fees for weddings within East Sussex. For weddings further afield — West Sussex, Kent, Surrey, London — travel is quoted transparently at cost.
How long have you been photographing weddings in Eastbourne?
Over twenty years. I've shot at most of the landmark venues on the East Sussex coast — The Grand, The View, Herstmonceux Castle, Pevensey, Glynde Place and more — and I know how the light behaves at each of them across every season.
When will I receive my wedding photographs?
A curated sneak-peek gallery within 72 hours, and your full, hand-edited gallery within seven days of your wedding day. Everything is delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery with unlimited high-resolution downloads.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Eastbourne is the sunniest town in the UK — but when Sussex does what Sussex sometimes does, I've photographed weddings in every kind of weather. Rain becomes atmosphere, wind becomes movement, and I always scout covered portrait options at every venue.
Do you have backup equipment and insurance?
Yes to both. I shoot every wedding on two professional camera bodies with duplicate lenses, memory cards and lighting. I carry full public liability and professional indemnity insurance — copies available to your venue on request.
Can we meet before booking?
Absolutely encouraged. I offer a free, no-obligation consultation — in person in Eastbourne, by phone, or video call. It's the best way to see whether we're a good fit for each other before committing.
What's your photography style?
Editorial and documentary in equal measure. I blend quietly into your day to capture genuine, unposed moments, then step in for a short, carefully-directed portrait session — usually no more than 20 minutes — that gives you the gallery-worthy images without feeling like a photoshoot.
How do I check if you're available for my date?
Use the enquiry form below — I aim to respond within a couple of hours. Peak Saturdays in May–September book 12–18 months out, so earlier is better.
