Alfriston Gardens is on the Alfriston Road at Berwick, right on the edge of the South Downs National Park.
It's exclusive use, with an old oak-beamed barn for the ceremony, a glass-walled barn opening onto the gardens, and two acres of gardens designed by an RHS Chelsea gold medallist. Up to 58 guests can stay on site, so the whole weekend can happen in one place.
Twenty minutes from home
I live in Eastbourne, just down the road, and photograph weddings all over this corner of Sussex.
Barns and gardens are an easy place to work. There's soft light through the big barn doors and windows, and the gardens give you variety for portraits without going anywhere.
I work quietly. Send me your family combinations beforehand and we'll do them in twenty minutes. Then I take the two of you into the gardens when the light is right.
