Chichester Wedding Photographer
Goodwood, Southend Barns, the Cathedral and the Guildhall. Weddings I've photographed for years, with your gallery home from 24 hours.
Chichester gives you a lot in a small space: a cathedral, a 13th-century friary, country estates and barns, with the Downs on one side and the harbour on the other.
I lived in Chichester for twenty years. For much of that time I was one of Goodwood House's recommended wedding photographers, and some of the wedding pictures Goodwood still uses in its own marketing are mine. So I know the timings, the walks between places and where the light will be when it matters.

Light, timing, and the people in the room
In that order, most days.
I work quietly. I don't move guests around or stop the day for a forty-minute group list. I photograph what happens, then take the two of you away for fifteen or twenty minutes when the light is right.
Every image is edited, and your full gallery is with you within 24 hours for a smaller wedding, or within a week for a full day. I take a limited number of Sussex weddings each year, and the autumn dates go first.
BarriePlaces I know well
A few of the venues I've photographed around Chichester. If yours isn't here, just ask.

Goodwood House
Home of the Dukes of Richmond, with ceremonies in the Yellow Drawing Room and the Festival of Speed hillclimb for portraits.

The Kennels
Smaller and more relaxed than the House, with parkland right behind it for portraits.
The Kennels guide →
Southend Barns
Converted barns and gardens just south of the city. Forgiving light indoors, and fields round it for late portraits.
The Southend Barns guide →
Chichester Guildhall
A Franciscan friary from 1269, only licensed for weddings since 2015. Plain stone walls and big windows.
Michael and Melissa →
Chichester Cathedral
Over 900 years old, with cloisters that are made for family groups and a quiet ten minutes after the service.
Charlotte and Mark →
Chichester Harbour Hotel
A Georgian townhouse hotel in the middle of the city. Good for winter weddings, with a sweeping staircase inside.
Michael and Melissa, a snowy Guildhall wedding
The forecast said minus two and snow. In the end the snow was thin on the ground, the roads were fine, and Melissa, famously punctual, started the ceremony at 2.30 on the dot.
It was too cold for confetti outside, so we did it and the family groups inside the Guildhall. Then I kept the two of them back for ten minutes on their own in that big stone room before a Rolls-Royce took them to their reception at Brasserie Blanc.

Chichester wedding questions
Which Chichester venues have you photographed?
Goodwood House, The Kennels, Southend Barns, Chichester Cathedral, the Guildhall, Farbridge and the Harbour Hotel, among others. I lived in Chichester for twenty years and was one of Goodwood House's recommended photographers. If yours isn't on that list, ask. I've probably worked somewhere very like it.
How much does a Chichester wedding photographer cost?
My Sussex collections are £1,150 for five hours, £1,550 for eight and £1,900 for eleven, with every image edited. A second photographer is £1,250.
When will we get our photos?
Within 24 hours for a smaller wedding and within a week for a full day, in a private online gallery with high-resolution downloads and no watermarks.
What's the best time of year for a Chichester wedding?
Every season works. Summer gives long evenings at the barns, autumn turns the Goodwood estate copper and gold, and winter suits candlelit rooms in the city.
What if it rains?
We work with it. Wet days give soft light and some of the moodiest portraits of the year, and I'll know the covered spots at your venue beforehand.
