Raj and Shermila married at The Ritz on Piccadilly. A civil ceremony, a champagne reception, then a traditional wedding breakfast. Once dinner was done they wanted some portraits around the hotel, and then a quick cab ride down to Westminster Bridge to catch the last of the light as the sun went down behind Big Ben.
Inside The Ritz
The Ritz is one of the easiest hotels in London to photograph well. White and gold walls bounce the light around, and the north-facing windows give soft, even light for portraits away from the guests. Even the back staircase is worth ten minutes.
Sunset on Westminster Bridge
From Piccadilly it’s ten minutes by cab to the river. If the light is good at the end of the day, it’s worth the trip: Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament behind you, the sun going down over them.
