Lancing College Chapel stands on the Downs above the Adur valley, and you can see it for miles along the coast.
Inside it's all vaulted stone and stained glass, and it seats up to 300. The school around it gives you cloisters, a rose garden, an amphitheatre and a dining hall, so the whole day can happen in one place.
A chapel that needs a wide lens
The scale is the thing. You need wide frames to show the two of you against the building, and a long lens for the faces.
I've photographed weddings at Lancing, and I work quietly in the Chapel. I stay out of the aisle and let the building and the service do their job.
Afterwards I take the two of you into the cloisters and the grounds for fifteen or twenty minutes. Send me your family combinations beforehand and we'll do them in twenty minutes.
