Scott and Emma married at Goodwood House in February. The House was filled with flowers by Robbie Honey, Emma wore a gown by Elie Saab, and the wedding was blessed by Father Phil, who had travelled over from the States for the occasion. Barrie photographed the day.
A racing driver at Goodwood
Scott is a two-time winner of the American IRL Championship. Goodwood suits that. Most people know the estate for the Festival of Speed and Revival, and there’s a motor racing story running through the whole place.

Robbie Honey filled Goodwood House with floral decorations. In rooms this grand, flowers on that scale help the space feel like a wedding.

The Egyptian Dining Room
The Egyptian Dining Room is one of the state rooms at Goodwood House, decorated in the Egyptian style that was fashionable in the Regency period. It’s a room that only really looks like this before guests come in, so it’s worth a few wide frames while it’s set and empty.
Souled Up in the evening
The music in the evening was by Souled Up, a five-piece band.
Scott and Emma were off to the Maldives for their honeymoon.

Planning a winter wedding at Goodwood House
- Don’t rule out winter. Frost on the parkland and log fires in the House. Winter weddings at Goodwood are underrated.
- Plan around the short days. Take portraits outside while there’s still light, and save the rooms, the flowers and the candlelight for later.
- If it rains, move inside. The House has plenty of room and plenty of windows, so bad weather doesn’t stop the portraits.
- Photograph the rooms first. Big floral work and a set dining room won’t look like that again once everyone sits down. Allow a few minutes for it before guests go in.
