A lot of the couples I photograph come from China, Hong Kong, Singapore and across Asia. Some marry in London, some at a castle or country house outside it, and many fly in for a pre wedding shoot before a wedding back home. This page covers all three.
Weddings inside Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is a licensed wedding venue, and I’ve photographed three weddings inside it. The ceremony is in the bridge itself, high above the river, so it suits a small group. Afterwards you have Shad Thames, Butlers Wharf and the river right outside for portraits.

Castles and country houses
If you’d rather be out of London, there are castles and country houses within an hour or two. Xiaolu and Li married at Castle Howard in Yorkshire, and one of the pictures from their day won an SWPP award in 2014. Lilai and Sisi married at Leeds Castle in Kent, about an hour from London. I’ve also photographed a Chinese wedding at Ston Easton Park in Somerset.
The traditions
I’ve photographed enough Chinese weddings to know the running order. The groom going to collect the bride, and the games the bridesmaids make him play at the door before they let him in, are some of the best moments of the day. I photograph them as they happen, without stopping anything to set it up again.
Pre wedding shoots in London and Paris
Pre wedding photography is a big part of what I do for couples from Asia. Most build a whole trip around it: a day in London at Big Ben, Tower Bridge and St Paul’s, and often a second day in Paris at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. I plan the route, sort the Royal Parks permits and book hair and makeup to come to your hotel.
